The Roaring Twenties

The 1920's are known as the Roaring Twenties as a result of the political, social, and economical changes that continue to cause great controversy. The nation's wealth has rapidly grown and swept us in to a consumer society. Mass production of technology appeals greatly to the middle class and urbanization has Americans gradually moving in to cities. Furthermore, the passing of Prohibition is one of the most notorious actions taken in the U.S. during the 1920's. While some American are completely for Prohinition, others refuse to accept it and that has lead to crime and saloons. Women also play a major role during the 1920's. Their involvement in the political and social aspects of society has increased to the extent that some women have been a leading factor in passing the Prohibition Act. Life has been tough since the end of WWI in terms of employment, but this issue has slowly improved throughout the decade.
