During the war women took over men's work to keep the economy flowing and they seemingly enjoyed being able to work. However, when the soldiers came home they came home to no jobs. The soldiers also faced a hard time adjust to normal civilized society. In addition, America faced economical issues. African Americans fought in the war and when it was over they expected to be treated the equally, but instead they were still faced discrimination and segregation. Society became very depressed and saddened because of the deaths and destruction it was going through.
